Faith

Freedom an’ Whisky

By Nikolyn Williams

“I’ve been walking in the footsteps of society’s lies. I don’t like what I see no more. Sometimes I wish I was blind. Sometimes I wait forever to Stand out in the rain so no one sees me cryin trying to wash away the pain”…. Jon Bon Jovi, Keep the faith.

“Nikolyn it’s just business” Woodrow pleaded with me. “Do you read anything I write? In what world do you think I’m ever gonna understand those three words?” “It’s just business?”

I’ve quit getting involved with the fight for Agriculture, because what inevitably happens for different reasons. We now live in the society where “It’s just business” has become a valid excuse for lack of honor, respect, there are very few left that will honor things like their word, or even appreciate, a friendship. Friendship boy that’s new hottest word for sale isn’t it? Sometimes, I get so mad at myself, I make a lot of mistakes in the delusional wake of the word “Friendship.” I think, like a lot of words it has and always will mean more to me than it does to everyone else.

I think, Woodrow probably describes it the best,”Nikolyn, will be the best friend you ever had, she will believe in you and back you, until you prove her wrong.” Then there is no going back.” I’m not getting into the details of all this. But people for gosh sakes, find some damn loyalty, before it’s too late.

Agriculture will inevitably loose for no other reason, that the margin is so slim, there is nothing to support the “backbone” of it any longer. We have sacrificed integrity, loyalty, and yes even friendship, just to stay afloat and that is how they have already beaten us. We are our own worst enemies.

In the end I guess everybody has gotta do what they gotta do, and Nikolyn has to do what Nikolyn does ……Write……

“Faith you know you’re gonna live through the rain.”

“Faith Don’t let your love turn to hate”

Love Always,

Nikolyn
